Marie J. Christian, American artist 1929-1995
Painter and Printmaker, Educator and Cultural resource from Omaha, Nebraska. Her body of work spans media including drawing, intaglio, lithography, oil paintings, pastel, ink, and ceramic.
Marie's studio was in the basement at home.
She received her BFA in painting and printmaking at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her teaching career included artist residency's through the Getty Foundation, Dana College, Creighton University and the Joslyn Art Museum.
The Scribe
Each creative attempt does not bring a new way of looking or a shocking 'break through' in resolution, rather the simple act of the "scribe" is being re-inacted now as it has been since we felt the need to record.
